Exploring Dalmatian Pelicans: Top Photography Tour for Bird Enthusiasts
The winter of 2025 was another successful season for exploring Dalmatian pelicans during a top photography tour for bird enthusiasts. I spent several sessions over 3 days which resulted in thousands of pictures. Although iI have visited the place numerous times and have taken thousands of images, this place never stops to amaze me. When coming, I thought that this time I would not be taking that many images. Well, guess what, they were only 4,500.
Itinerary for exploring Dalmatian pelicans
For all three days, we did morning and afternoon sessions. We did a total of 6 sessions. Some of them were from a boat and some from the shore. Both type of photo sessions were rather productive and giving the opportunities for identical images.
Photo opportunities for bird photography enthusiasts
The variety of photo opportunities is immense and only limited by our imagination and the variety of light conditions. Starting from the crack of dawn, we could take portraits against the rising sun if it is there. Some of the mornings was completely cloudy so we could do slow shutter speed, intentional motion blur, panning, etc. There is no bad light here.
Being here often, makes me do a different picture every time. This time, I experimented with two techniques: One of them was double exposure, and the other one was black and white photography. The results were great and I am quite happy I returned home with some new and different images.
