Birds, Wildlife and Conservation Across Europe
I am a passionate birder and conservation professional from Bulgaria, with more than 20 years of experience in bird conservation, fieldwork and bird identification. My work has taken me across some of Europe’s most rewarding wildlife destinations, and I have extensive experience guiding birdwatching and wildlife photography trips in Bulgaria, Greece, Arctic Norway, Albania, Spain and Romania.
Throughout my career, I have worked with universities, conservation organisations, developers and international tour operators. I organise and deliver bird identification training for university students, conduct bird surveys for development projects, and guide international visitors in search of exceptional birds, wildlife and photographic opportunities.
My particular strengths are identifying birds by both sight and sound, interpreting bird calls in the field, and helping others develop their identification skills. Whether we are exploring Bulgaria’s wetlands and mountain forests, searching for Mediterranean specialities in Greece and Albania, discovering the diverse birdlife of Spain and Romania, or experiencing the spectacular landscapes and wildlife of Arctic Norway, I aim to make every outing both rewarding and memorable.
Over the years, I have built an extensive network of contacts within Bulgaria’s conservation community. This provides valuable local knowledge and access to up-to-date information on bird distribution and recent sightings, helping me plan productive excursions and find the species my guests are most eager to see.
English is my primary working language, and most of the people I have guided have come from the UK, the USA, the Netherlands and Germany. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with visitors of different experience levels, from keen beginners discovering the world of birdwatching to experienced birders looking for regional specialities and rarities.
For me, guiding is about more than finding birds. It is about understanding their behaviour, appreciating the landscapes they inhabit, and discovering the natural and cultural heritage that makes each destination unique.
