The Bulgarian National Rarities Committee (BUNARCO) just published an update of the birds recorded in Bulgaria. This is the second edition of the list up to December 31, 2014.
The new Bulgaria bird checklist includes nine new additions: Pink footed Goose Anser brachyrhynchus, Lesser Sand Plover Calidris mongolus, Wilson’s Phalarope Phalaropus tricolor, Isabelline Shrike Lanius isabellinus, Greenish Warbler Phylloscopus trochiloides, Dusky Thrush Turdus naumanni, Black-throated Accentor Prunella atrogularis, Red-fronted Serin Serinus pusillus, Cretzschmar’s Bunting Emberiza caesia.
For taxonomical reasons Passer hispaniolensis x italiae is now separated as a new species Italian Sparrow Passer italiae.
